Stephen King (1841-1915).English exploer and surveyor,who took part in the first expedition to safely cross the interior of Australia,from south to north,in 1861-62,led by john McDouall Stuart,in Stuart's last of six expdetions.He was later appointed surveyor of the Overland Telegraph Line,in 1870.
