George Formby, Jr., OBE (born George Hoy Booth on 26 May 1904 – 6 March 1961) was an British singer-songwriter and comedian, remembered for playing the banjo ukulele or banjolele and as a singer of light, comical songs, who became a popular star of stage and screen.
