The Ritz Hotel,in Piccadilly, was built in 1905-1906,in a Louis XIV Neo-Classical style.It was opened in 1906,owned and run by Cesar Ritz,whom it is named after.,following his dismissal as manager at the nearby Savoy Hotel in Strand.He hired the reknowned Chef Auguste Escoffier,who had also been dismissed from the Savoy.Since 1906,a great many famous and infamous guests,notably Royalty,have stayed at the hotel.
