Britain's first international film star, who starred in a series of popular 1930s musicals such as "Evergreen" and "It's Love Again". She was later popular playing the last incarnation of Mrs Dale in the radio serial "The Dales" from 1963 to 1969.
Born 11 March 1907. Died 19 August 1981. Awarded the OBE in 1970.
