Summary:

Herman Wouk (1915-2019).American novelist,who was often referred to as "The American Tolstoy" for his epic bestselling historical novels.These included the Pulitzer prize-winning The Caine Mutiny (1951),The Winds of War (1971) & War and Remembrance (1978),all set during WWII,the latter two following a family of serving naval officers. They were loosely inspired by Wouk's own tenure as a soldier during WWII.
