HIGH STREETS
December 31, 2015
Streets hosting prestigious hotels continue to top the roads favoured by notable people in modern times. The Savoy drives the Strand, Claridges Brook Street and Langhams Portland Place.
However, among permanent residents Cheyne Walk in Chelsea is the clear leader with 72 noted residences. Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills moves up to 4th place, helped by establishment figures recorded here so far. Sixty people have already been recorded as residing at some point in the famous Motion Picture residential home on the road. Caxton Street, housing the famous celebrity register office, has dramatically entered the chart at number 10 with 38 additions being made.
Outside of London Lewes Crescent in Brighton continues to build with 20 notable residencies logged so far. Ashley Road in Epsom, Surrey has also entered the chart with 15 abodes. Marriages recorded at the local registry office (now closed) have driven the interest. George Harrison (below) of The Beatles wed here in 1966.
There are 15 abodes listed for Charlie Chaplin alone.
